Ostar

The Osmen twins argued, split and formed Ostea and Ostar on opposite sides of the Tormented Straits.

On the northern peninsula of the Tormented Straits Valia Osmen built Osmia.

Governance

Ostar is a monarchy. Valia rules by divine right.

Slavery

Ostari consider themselves enlightened liberators as they treat their slaves well. Some are even paid. There are even Dragonborn freemen (though they have limited rights and curtailed social status).

This attitude stems in no small part from the queen who opposes the fighting pits encouraged by her brother, considering them barbaric.

Dragonborn are consided inferior, but are to be treated like favoured pets. Some Ostari recognise that Dragonborn are in fact the equal of men, but this is not a strong movement in a society that (at least in its aristocracy) relies on a servant class made up oa 'liberated' Dagronborn.

Dragonborn can be traded but this trade is highly regulated to ensure it does not become an exploitable economy.
