This knowledge allows them to select high-quality woods for the shafts, balancing durability with the right weight for smooth, accurate flight. They carefully choose feathers, often from birds with strong, balanced flight, to ensure stability and reduce wobble mid-air. Skilled in metalwork for crafting and attaching sharp, durable arrowheads, they consider the target material and range, tailoring each bolt or arrow for optimal penetration, speed, and accuracy across varying distances. This attention to detail in fletching and bolt craftsmanship transforms their shots into lethal, reliable tools for any battlefield condition.

These crafting skills extent to the maintenance of their crossbow, possessing a keen understanding of the mechanics. A master will carry spares for key components, be able to effect "field repairs" and craft replacement parts as appropriate.
